Q. How long will it take to design my website?
A. We can have a website up and running for you in a couple of weeks or even a few days, provided you are able to supply the text and pictures you want and have a clear idea of what you are after. Generally we will agree a timescale with you in advance and aim for an achievable launch date.
Q. How do I get started?
A. After your initial contact I will give you a useful guide to things you need to think about (such as your target market, the message you want to get across). I will assist and advise you if you are unsure, so you do not need any technical, marketing or copy writing expertise!
Q. When do you invoice me for the deposit?
A. I will send an invoice to you after you have received the initial information pack from us and have agreed to proceed with the web site design. Work will start when the deposit is paid and the balance is payable when the site has been completed and before it goes ‘live’.
Q. I am starting a new business and I don’t want the competition to find out in advance, how do you ensure this doesn’t happen?
A. Firstly, confidentiality is assured and no client details are ever revealed unless authorised. Secondly, when the site is under development it will be protected by passwords to allow only access to Stonyweb and the client.
Q. How does Stonyweb.co.uk keep the price so low?
A. I have very low overheads, only employ extra resource when absolutely needed, and I provide our ‘essentials’ package to cover just that, the essentials needed for you to get a web presence. A lot of meetings with clients can be done on the phone, again saving costs by avoiding unnecessary travel and unproductive time.
Q Why do you ask for my domain to be set up on Stonyweb’s hosting?
A. This makes it easier to administer your site (keeping costs down), as well as providing you with the visitor and other stats we offer, but you won’t be tied to this hosting if you want to use another hosting service.
Q. What geographical areas does Stonyweb cover?

A. I have customers in a number of locations, including overseas in Europe but for our ‘essentials’ package I prefer to cover the Buckinghamshire and South Northamptonshire areas. In Bucks this includes mainly Milton Keynes, Stony Stratford, Hanslope, Cosgrove, Olney, Newport Pagnell, Bletchley, Buckingham, Aylesbury, Winslow and nearby villages, but we will also cover other areas in the County. In Northants we concentrate on the South Northants district, including Towcester, Deanshanger, Brackley and Northampton itself, though again we will travel to other locations. If your area is not covered here, please don’t worry as we would be happy to work with you, it may just mean we communicate via phone, email etc as opposed to any face to face meeting.
Q. Why don’t you add VAT to your prices?
A. Stonyweb remains a small business and as such operates below the VAT threshold. If this changes we will let you know.
Q. How do you handle updates to my site?
A. We usually undertake very small updates without charge but If you email us your requirements we will then quote for the update. Some customers want to have regular updates to their sites so we agree a schedule with inexpensive maintenance costs..
